his intensive training was held in Qansaxdheere, a district within the Bay region, specifically targeting staff serving underserved and hard-to-reach rural areas. The focus aligns directly with our larger initiative, titled: Provision of Integrated life-saving Health Assistance to the most vulnerable Communities in Under-served and Hard-to-reach rural areas in Qansaxdhere District of Bay region.
Why BeMONC Matters
Basic Maternal Obstetric and Neonatal Care (BeMONC) training is essential. It provides health workers with the skills necessary to manage common but potentially deadly complications that can arise during pregnancy, childbirth, and in the immediate newborn period.
This training covered critical areas, including:
- Emergency management of obstetric hemorrhages.
- Identifying and managing pre-eclampsia and eclampsia.
- Proper care of newborns, including immediate resuscitation techniques.
By empowering our staff with these enhanced skills, we are ensuring that quality, life-saving care is available closer to home for women and infants who often face immense barriers to accessing central health facilities.
